Triangle Tech is an Outsourced Technology Director firm in the Raleigh-Durham / Research Triangle area, founded in January 2024. We are not an MSP selling support contracts and we are not a consultancy that ships roadmaps and disappears. We run your technology function — strategy, execution, and vendor relationships — and one person stands behind the outcomes. This page is owner-to-owner, so you can decide whether you trust us before you ever talk to us.
If something goes wrong with your technology, you should know exactly whose problem it is. Here, it is not a queue or a tier. It is a person.

I started Triangle Tech in January 2024. The director-level engagement is not a layer on top of the product — it is the product. When you hire us, you are hiring someone to think about your technology the way you would if you had a full-time technology executive on staff, and to own the result.
This is founder-led and hands-on by design. I sell the work, I do the work, and I am the one you call when you want a straight answer. I would rather tell you something you do not want to hear than keep a contract by staying quiet — and I would rather turn down a bad fit than pretend we are right for everyone.
These are not slogans. They are structural — they come from how the firm is put together, which is why a typical MSP cannot simply decide to offer them.
Most fractional CIOs hand you a roadmap and walk away. Most MSPs execute without strategic context. We do both — the director who sets the direction also leads the team that builds it. No handoffs, no finger-pointing, no roadmap that gets filed and forgotten.
When the right answer is a tool that does not exist yet, we build it. Most MSPs cannot do this at all, so they keep clients on overpriced software because switching is hard work. We have replaced a vendor contract with a system built for exactly how a client actually operates.
We use our own AI tooling to run this business day to day. That is not a slide in a pitch deck — it is how we know what works before we ever recommend it to you. Proof of capability, not claims about it.
You are not getting a network engineer who shows up once a quarter to read a report. You get someone operating at the level of a technology executive — present at the strategic table, accountable for outcomes, responsible for the team that runs your technology.
Most providers profit when you cannot leave. Documentation gets hoarded, vendor relationships stay in the provider's name, knowledge stays siloed. We do the opposite on purpose. We measure ourselves by whether your business is better off — not by how dependent on us you are.
Your documentation, your systems, your knowledge — it belongs to you and stays accessible to you. We do not hoard it to make ourselves harder to replace.
Contracts and vendor relationships are held in your name, not ours. If we ever part ways, you keep everything. That is the point.
Lock-in is what commodity providers use because they cannot compete on value. We build the relationship so you could walk away cleanly — and stay because the work is worth it, not because you are trapped.
A vendor takes orders. A partner pushes back. If a technology decision is going to hurt the business, you will hear it from us plainly — that is the partnership working correctly, not a problem with it.
Saying no to the wrong clients is how we stay good for the right ones. We are deliberate about fit, and we will tell you early if we are not it.
We are a fit for Triangle-area businesses with at least 10 employees that are growth-oriented and treat technology as something worth investing in — owner-led or with a small leadership team, and with at least one internal person who cares about getting technology right.
If that is not you, that is good information for both of us early.
The first conversation is about whether this is right — for you and for us. If it is not, we will say so. If it is, you will be talking to the person who is accountable from day one.
