Frequently Asked Questions

How often should my business back up its data?

At minimum, daily backups. For most businesses, we recommend hourly backups of critical data. Mission-critical environments may need continuous (real-time) backup to minimize potential data loss.

What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?

Keep 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media types, with 1 copy stored offsite (typically cloud). This ensures you can recover from any disaster — hardware failure, ransomware, fire, or theft.

How long does it take to recover from a data loss event?

Recovery time depends on your backup strategy. With our Business plan, most businesses are back online within 4-8 hours. Our Mission Critical plan can restore operations in under 1 hour using instant virtualization.

Does backup protect against ransomware?

Yes — if done correctly. We use immutable backups that cannot be encrypted or deleted by ransomware. This means you can restore your data without paying the ransom. Standard antivirus alone is not enough.

Is Microsoft 365 data automatically backed up?

No. Microsoft provides limited retention, not true backup. If an employee deletes emails or files, they may be gone permanently after 30-90 days. We back up your entire Microsoft 365 environment separately.
