Amistra phones
Business phone systems for offices across the Triangle

What it does
Every call goes where it should.
Extensions, ring groups, an auto-attendant, greetings and voicemail, set up around how your office works and changed whenever it changes.
A customer calls
Your main number
Auto-attendant
“Thanks for calling. Press 1 for sales, 2 for service.”
Press 1
Sales ring group
Three desk phones ring together. No answer: voicemail.
Press 2
Service
Rings one phone, then the next. No answer: voicemail.
After hours
Closed greeting
Your hours, then the main voicemail box.
Extensions and ring groups
- An extension for every person who needs one
- Ring groups, so a call reaches the right people at once or in turn
Auto-attendant and call flows
- A greeting that routes callers: “Press 1 for sales…”
- Call flows for who rings, in what order, and what happens when nobody answers
- Different handling for business hours and after hours
Greetings and voicemail
- Recorded greetings for the main line and each extension
- Voicemail for every extension and ring group
Your numbers, your handsets
- Your existing numbers ported over, and they stay your property
- Handsets you buy are yours to keep
- The carrier account in your name, at the carrier’s own rates
Looked after, not just installed
- Hosting, monitoring and patching of the system
- Fault response when it isn’t doing what it was set up to do
- Changes to extensions, greetings and call flows, with no per-change fees
Emergency calling
- E911, registered to your office address
- Tell us when a phone moves, so the address stays right
Who you call
Set up and looked after by the people you call.
When a phone isn’t working, you call us, not a carrier’s help line. A person answers, in business hours, 9am to 5pm on weekdays.
- We build your call flows and greetings with you
- We set up the handsets
- Changes and faults come to us

How the switch works
Moving your numbers without losing a call.
Your old service keeps working until the new one is ready.
A call
Tell us how many people need a phone, how calls should be answered, and what you pay now.
A written quote
Users, setup, handsets and the monthly price, in writing before anything is ordered.
Setup and handsets are paid before we order equipment.
Build and set up
We build your call flows and greetings with you, then set up the handsets.
Port and go live
Your numbers move to the new system. Keep your old service until the port completes; we tell you when it’s safe to cancel.
Ports are carried out by the carriers, so the date depends on them.
What it costs
$150 a month for up to five users, then $20 a user.
One monthly price for the system. Your calling is billed by the carrier, on an account in your name.
What a month costs
| Users | Per month |
|---|---|
| Up to 5 users | $150 |
| 8 users | $210 |
| 12 users | $290 |
| 20 users | $450 |
The carrier pays us a disclosed 10% referral commission. It is not added to your bill.

Questions
Questions about Amistra phones.
Anything else, ask us. A person answers.
Can we keep our phone numbers?
Yes. Your numbers are ported to the new system and remain your property. If you ever leave, we help you port them out, as long as the account is paid up.
Do we need new phones?
Not necessarily. If you already own IP handsets, we check whether they work with the system. New handsets are $150–300 each, and you own them.
What internet connection do we need?
Calls run over your internet connection and office network, so they need to be reliable and fast enough for everyone who’s on the phone at once. Ask us to look at yours before you switch.
Does 911 work?
Yes. E911 is registered to your office address, so tell us if a phone moves to another location. Like all internet calling, 911 can be limited or unavailable during an internet or power outage at your office.
Is the phone system part of managed IT?
No. Amistra phones are their own service with their own price. Managed IT’s response times and after-hours coverage don’t apply to phones.
What does the carrier commission mean?
The carrier pays us a 10% referral commission. It isn’t added to your bill: the carrier bills you directly, in your name, at its own rates. We tell you because you should know.
How do we leave if we want to?
Phones are month-to-month. Give 30 days' written notice, and start the port of your numbers before the service ends: numbers not ported before disconnection can be lost.
